The Bapis Group was founded in 1969 by Nick Bapis and has continued to evolve and be managed over the years to its current state. The Bapis Group joined HighTower in 2008 as the first team transitioning assets from a wire house. We are trusted by generations of clients and their families.

Nick M. Bapis

Nick M. Bapis

Partner and Managing Director

Nick M. Bapis, Managing Director and Partner with The Bapis Group at HighTower, brings over 45 years of financial services industry experience to the team. In his role, Nick oversees the financial planning process and provides personal wealth advising to individuals and families, specializing in generational wealth planning. He creates and guides the implementation of sophisticated wealth management and preservation strategies that incorporate all aspects of life, considering financial assets and non-financial assets alike. Insurance and annuities are key elements of Nick's financial planning process.

Nick joined HighTower in 2008, coming from Morgan Stanley where he served as a Senior Vice President, Wealth Advisor and Senior Consultant with the ICS Group. Prior to this role, Nick spent 18 years at E.F. Hutton & Co. and began his career in the financial services industry in 1968 at F.I. DuPont & Co. His passion, vast financial background and professional experience allow him to create robust and specific financial plans in order to help clients achieve their long-term financial goals and objectives.

Nick was named in the Barron's publication of the Top 1000 Advisors, specifically the #2 ranked Financial Advisor in Utah in 2013 and 2015. In addition, he was one of only four honorees selected to the 2015 Advisor Hall of Fame by Research Magazine. In order to be selected for this prestigious award, honorees must have served a minimum of 20 years in the financial industry, have acquired substantial assets under management, have demonstrated noteworthy client service and have earned recognition from their peers and the broader community for the honor that they reflect on their profession.

Nick earned a B.A. in Banking and Finance from The University of Utah and remains an integral part of the university's community by participating in numerous continuing education seminars and speaking engagements on campus. Nick is also involved with educational endeavors at The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, The University of Chicago and New York University. As a board member for the Greek Orthodox Diocese of America, Nick plays a vital role in the philanthropic efforts of the Greek Orthodox Community in Salt Lake City and across the nation. He is also an active member in the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). 

Michael N. Bapis

Michael N. Bapis

Partner and Managing Director

Michael N. Bapis, Partner and Managing Director with The Bapis Group at HighTower, brings over 15 years of wealth management and private banking experience to the practice.

Michael is dedicated to assisting clients and families, institutions and professional athletes and entertainers by providing knowledgeable insight and highly personalized client service. In utilizing global asset allocation concepts and tactical investment strategies, Michael works with clients and families to create financial portfolios that align with long-term goals and optimize their wealth.

Michael began his career at Morgan Stanley in 1998, where he spent time in various departments learning a wide array of skills and knowledge within the financial services industry. A year later in 1999, Michael became a financial advisor. During this time, he was promoted to a Senior Vice President, Wealth Advisor and honored as a member of the prestigious Chairman's Club -- a group that highlights the top 150 advisors in the firm.

Michael joined HighTower in 2008 as the third team to breakaway from a wirehouse advisor to join the HighTower partnership. Michael was interviewed and featured on the cover of Investment Advisor Magazine to shed additional light on his decision to move to HighTower, emphasizing how the open-source platform provides tremendous flexibility that benefits clients and promotes team success. Michael serves on HighTower's Strategic Advisory Committee and was named Chairman of the Committee in 2014. In addition, Michael is very involved in the planning and execution of important HighTower initiatives and plays an integral role in the recruitment and business development process of on-boarding new advisor candidates and teams to join HighTower's growing firm.

A strong advocate of the team approach to wealth management, Michael has been named to the Barron's Top 1,200 Advisor List from 2014 to 2017 and was also honored as one of the Barron's top 150 Financial Advisors in the state of New York. Michael and The Bapis Group at HighTower were also honored on the 2016 FT300, a ranking of the nation's top Registered Investment Advisors compiled by the Financial Times. Michael is considered a thought leader in the financial services industry and represents The Bapis Group at HighTower, from local to global levels, having appeared on CNBC, Reuters, and Bloomberg as well as quoted in The Wall Street Journal, CNBC.com, CNNmoney.com, Reuters, MoneyLife and Investment News.

Michael's meaningful connection with his Greek heritage has given him the valuable opportunity to give back to the community in a myriad of ways while focusing on philanthropic efforts to further expand networks and outreach. As the Chairman of The Ronald McDonald House of New York - Greek Division for the third year, Michael is committed to providing support services for families from Greece and Cyprus, as well as for Greek-Americans staying in New York City while battling cancer. In his role, he provides the Greek Division with new strategic goals in the fulfillment of its mission and leads the fundraising efforts through the execution of successful events and campaigns throughout the year. Michael is also on the Board on the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church's Vision Committee in Long Island and an active member on the Leadership 100 Board and Audit Committee.

Jessica Iorio

Jessica Iorio

Executive Director

Jessica Iorio, Executive Director with The Bapis Group at HighTower, brings over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry to the practice. As Executive Director, Jessica focuses on executing client investment programs, managing broker-dealer and custodial relationships, analyzing investment opportunities and overseeing all operations for The Bapis Group.

With her breadth of experience and knowledge, Jessica is the main point of contact for The Bapis Group's multi-generational firm. She is dedicated to evaluating and improving the efficiency of all facets of the business and plays a vital role in the client on-boarding process to ensure a positive client experience. In addition, she guides important financial decisions by helping to create and monitor effective portfolios with client's best interests in mind.

Jessica began her career in 2006 at Morgan Stanley as a Client Service Associate with The Bapis Group. In 2008, Jessica joined The Bapis Group at HighTower and played an integral role in the transition from a wire house to a private and independent wealth management firm.

As the founding member of the HighTower Field Professional's Council, Jessica understands the importance of teamwork and highlights how the power of intellectual capital can transform individual wealth management practices. She is committed to creating and maintaining relationships with clients, colleagues, and financial professionals who all have an essential role in the creation, development and implementation of financial portfolios that are tailored to a specific client's long-term goals and objectives.

Jessica currently holds her Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Jessica graduated with a B.S. in Finance from Quinnipiac University where she attended on a soccer scholarship. As the founder of Bayonne's Liberty Elite Soccer Program, Jessica has remained dedicated to the game of soccer through her involvement in youth soccer programs across the tri-state area.

Leila Taylor

Registered Client Service Associate

Leila Taylor, a Registered Client Service Associate with The Bapis Group at HighTower, brings 5 years of financial industry experience to the team. She joined The Bapis Group in 2012 and focuses on providing clients with a seamless service experience to achieve their financial goals and objectives. Leila's primary responsibilities include account management and maintenance, trading, money movement and client service. As a Registered Client Service Associate, she supports The Bapis Group throughout all stages of client service engagement and provides administrative and operational support for the advisors and team.

Leila is dedicated to providing highly personalized client service in managing the client reporting process and generating client portfolio reports on a monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual basis.

Leila currently holds her Series 7, 63 and 99 licenses.

Leila earned her Bachelor's degree in Education in 2002 from Illia Chavchavadze State University in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 2004, she received her Master's degree in Translation and Interpretation from Georgian Technical University in Tbilisi, Georgia as well.

Leila resides in Salt Lake Cit with her husband, Steve, and two sons, Niko, 4 and Luka, 6. 

Christina Klepper

Christina Klepper

Communications Manager

Christina joined The Bapis Group at HighTower in 2015. In her role as Communications Manager, she focuses on conceptualizing and executing marketing and social media strategies for the team. Her diverse professional background includes experience in public relations, corporate communications and marketing strategy implementation.

Christina focuses on designing and managing The Bapis Group's marketing efforts to focus on enhancing the client experience. Her primary responsibilities include analyzing and tracking company media presence and growth opportunities, corporate event planning, and developing effective content for specific target populations, press engagements, digital media blasts and editorial communications. Christina also provides administrative and operational support to the advisors and team.

Prior to joining HighTower, Christina worked as a Communications Manager for The New York State Thruway Authority and Canal Corporation where she specialized in media relations and communications. Christina earned her Bachelor's degree from The University at Albany in 2012, where she studied Communications and attended on a soccer scholarship. In 2014, Christina received her Master's degree in Communications from The University at Albany as well.

Christina currently resides in Bergen County, New Jersey and enjoys running, playing soccer and hanging out with family and friends in her leisure. 

Joseph Paul

Joseph Paul

Client Service Associate

Joseph joined The Bapis Group at HighTower in 2016. He focuses on providing clients with a seamless service experience to achieve financial goals and objectives. 
 
His principal responsibilities include money movement, new account opening, account maintenance, performance reporting and equity research. As a provider of operational and administrative support to The Bapis Group, Joseph assists the team through all stages of client service engagement. 
 
Prior to joining HighTower, Joseph worked as an intern for The Bapis Group while obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Utah. He served as a member of the Judiciary Board for his fraternity, Beta Theta Pi, for three years and played an integral role in the philanthropy efforts.
 
Joseph is a native of Valparaiso, Indiana and currently resides in Salt Lake City. He is an avid skier and enjoys taking in all that Utah has to offer - from the ski resorts to national parks. 
 
 

Nick Halamandaris

Client Service Associate

Nick joined The Bapis Group at HighTower in 2017 as a Client Service Associate. He focuses on delivering an excellent client experience and supporting the team throughout all stages of client service engagement.

Nick’s primary responsibilities include equity research, account maintenance, money movement and preparing the quantitative analysis for client presentations. As a provider of operational and administrative support for The Bapis Group, Nick specializes in assisting clients with establishing new accounts, processing client transactions and maintaining accurate records. Nick is dedicated to building relationships with clients through trust and constant communication.

Nick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley in December of 2016. He was a four year member of the UCal Berkeley baseball team where he attended on a scholarship.

Nick is a native of Monterey Beach, California and currently resides in New York City.
