Meet Our Team
HighTower Twickenham is a multi-disciplinary team composed of financial professionals who specialize in wealth management, portfolio construction, client service and financial planning.
In 1972, W. F., Paula and their three children returned to Huntsville. W. F. opened the Robinson Humphrey office in 1980, which later became part of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. W.F. retired from management in 1996 to form his partnership, The Twickenham Group, today HighTower Twickenham, an independent practice dedicated to delivering the highest level of clients service and supported by HighTower’s sophisticated platform.
W.F.’s responsibilities include developing business opportunities with clients and prospects. He is passionate about nurturing long-term relationships and exceptional client service.
W. F. and Paula have been and continue to be active in community affairs.
Wes immediately began his career as an investment advisor with a small regional firm, joining Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 1993. Wes was a member of the President’s Council at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. In 2013, Wes co-founded Twickenham Wealth Advisors, an independent financial advisory practice dedicated to the highest level of service for clients. He has earned the designations of Senior Investment Management Consultant and Financial Planning Specialist, and is a Certified Financial Planner™.
Wes’ responsibilities as a member of HighTower Twickenham include long-range strategic planning, retirement and estate planning, and wealth transition. Wes also handles risk management, lending liability management and insurance / annuity / long-term care investments for our clients.
Wes is married to Frances Sanders and has three daughters, Sanders, Hannah Page and Alee. Wes has been active in the community serving on the boards of a number of institutions including the Huntsville Museum of Art Foundation, Burritt Museum, Randolph School, the Huntsville Hospital Advisory Council and the Boys and Girls Clubs.
In 1993, Moss and his wife, Leslie, moved to Huntsville, Alabama, her hometown. For the next 11 years, Moss was a member of an executive team at ITC Delta^Com, a regional telecommunication firm. The Team led the company through a successful initial public offering and multiple debt offerings and grew the company to more than 40 locations in 10 states with nearly 3,000 employees throughout the southern United States. In 2004, Moss joined Morgan Stanley Smith Barney as a Financial Advisor and earned the designations of Senior Investment Management Consultant and Financial Planning Specialist. In 2013, Moss co-founded Twickenham Wealth Advisors, an independent financial advisory practice dedicated to the highest level of service for clients and supported by HighTower’s sophisticated platform.
Moss’ responsibilities as a member at HighTower Twickenham include long- range strategic financial, corporate, retirement and estate planning analysis. He also handles risk management, lending liability management and alternative investments. Moss and Leslie have two children, Henry and Hattie. He is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys many different sports.
In 2000, Michael moved into a new Regional Sales Director role with a technology startup firm, which focused on supply distribution in the manufacturing industry. A year later, he and his wife, Sara, transferred to Huntsville to be near family.
In 2007, Michael joined Morgan Stanley Smith Barney as a Financial Advisor and earned the designations of Investment Management Consultant and Financial Planning Specialist. In 2013, Michael co-founded Twickenham Wealth Advisors, an independent financial advisory practice dedicated to the highest level of service for clients and supported by HighTower’s sophisticated platform.
Michael’s responsibilities as a member of HighTower Twickenham include individual and corporate retirement planning strategies, lending liability management and developing wealth management strategies. Michael and Sara have two children, Alex and Patrick. He enjoys playing golf and spending time with his sons.
Lauren leads HighTower Twickenham’s Birmingham-based Multi-Family Office, which caters to prosperous families’ distinctive needs with services marked by a “white-glove” experience and an emphasis on confidentiality. She assists clients and their families with personal financial planning, charitable gifting strategies, and family governance and education.
Prior to HighTower, Lauren served as a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch, where she focused on risk management, portfolio development, retirement planning, and wealth preservation and intergenerational wealth transfer strategies. She has previously held positions with American City Business Journals and The Advisory Board Company.
Lauren earned her Bachelor of the Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia. She is a Certified Financial Planning™ (CFP™) designee.
An active member of the community, Lauren serves as the President of the Alabama Planned Giving Council, as well as a board member for Down Syndrome Alabama. She is also involved with the Children’s Art Guild and UWCA Women’s Leadership Council as well as a member of the Board of Directors for Cornerstone Schools and a member of the Rotary Club of Birmingham. Lauren and her husband, Andrew, and their daughters Lily, Mary Cabell, and Ware currently live in Birmingham, AL.
Jaime Day is an Executive Director, Private Wealth Advisor of HighTower Twickenham. With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, Jaime specializes in financial planning, corporate retirement plans and the development of wealth management strategies.
Jaime focuses on private wealth management, corporate retirement services and executive financial planning services. He works with individuals, families and institutions to discern their long-term financial goals and help them construct a comprehensive strategy that positions them for success.
Prior to HighTower, Jaime served as a First Vice President and Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley, where he managed assets and developed personalized investment strategies for high-net-worth clients and institutions. He has previously held positions with Wachovia Securities and Merrill Lynch. Jaime also served as a Combat Medic for the Alabama National Guard from 1991- 2000.
Jaime earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Jacksonville State University. He holds his Series 7 and 66 licenses, as well as Life, Health and Variable Insurance licenses.
In his free time, Jaime enjoys being outdoors, hunting, crossfit and playing soccer.
Working with business owners taught him that the most pertinent information is not always evident on the surface. Asking the right questions and understanding the motivations that underlie a person’s decisions is paramount to adding value. As a result of his experience, he made it his mission to provide clients with the best-in-class service. He understands that each individual has a unique set of objectives and situations, and understanding his clients is his top priority so he can bring the appropriate resources to bear for any given situation.
Rob and his wife met at the University of Alabama, and have been together ever since. They enjoy being outdoors, being on the water, traveling, and with family. They are very happy and excited to call Huntsville their home!
In 2011, John left the aerospace and defense industry to pursue his interests in investments and the market and began his career as a Financial Analyst.
John’s responsibilities as a member at HighTower Twickenham include investment analysis, assisting with long-range strategic financial, corporate, retirement and estate planning, and alternative investment analysis for clients.
During her 30 years with the firm, she served in many branch operations roles and later obtained her Series 3, 7, 63 and 65 licenses. She became a registered Client Service Assistant in 1985. In 1997, she obtained the Financial Planning Associate designation, obtained her Insurance and Annuity license, and completed the Financial Advisor Associate Program.
Today, she serves as the Director of Private Wealth Services at HighTower Twickenham, an independent financial advisory practice dedicated to the highest level of service for clients and supported by HighTower’s sophisticated platform.
Terri’s responsibilities include coordinating the group’s overall operations, identifying high-quality service opportunities to new and existing clients, coordinating marketing efforts and serving as the primary resource for team administrative issues.
In her leisure time Terri enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
In 2003, Tracy joined Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. She earned the designation of Registered Paraplanner and Accredited Asset Management Specialist through the College for Financial Planning. Tracy served as a registered Securities representative/Acting Office Branch Manager in an investment center, as well as various operational roles while in the banking industry.
She holds Series 7, 63, and 24 licenses, as well as an Alabama Insurance and Annuity licenses.
Tracy’s responsibilities as a member at HighTower Twickenham include primary contact for client service requests, which include account maintenance, Online Access and Bill Pay, client cash disbursement requests, electronic funds transfers, order entry, distribution requests for 529 Plans, charitable gifting and notary services.
Tracy enjoys outdoor activities and traveling.
Tasia holds a Bachelor of Science from Athens State University and a Master of Science from Auburn University at Montgomery.
Tasia’s responsibilities as a member at HighTower Twickenham include primary contact for client service requests, which include account maintenance, Online Access and Bill Pay, client cash disbursement requests, electronic funds transfers, order entry, distribution requests for 529 Plans, charitable gifting and notary services.
Elizabeth Sharman, a Private Wealth Specialist with
HighTower Twickenham, joined the firm in December 2016. Supporting the newly
established Birmingham, Alabama office that is led by Managing Director, Lauren
Pearson, Elizabeth’s primary roles include interfacing and assisting clients
while providing tailored wealth management services.
After a brief period of retirement and raising two children, Elizabeth sought out to join the workforce again, and through her community engagement, connected with HighTower Twickenham. Prior to joining the company, she acquired invaluable business experience and acumen to include health care risk-management, corporate compliance, human resource recruitment and corporate-headquarters management, first in Washington, D.C. and later in Birmingham.
When she is not providing personalized services for the HighTower Twickenham clients, Elizabeth spends her time volunteering with the women’s ministries of the Cathedral Church of the Advent in downtown Birmingham. She also enjoys cooking, staying physically active and fit, Bible studies and traveling most anywhere.
Elizabeth and her husband reside in Birmingham with their daughter and son.
Emily Medlen, Operations Associate at HighTower Twickenham, completed her undergraduate work at Mississippi State in 2010. After college, she followed her passion for animal care and served as a zookeeper in Montgomery, Alabama as well as South Africa. Soon after moving home to Huntsville in 2011, she pursued graduate studies at Mississippi State and earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 2013. Simultaneously, she started a career in hospitality sales. Emily also voluntarily served as the Supplier Director on the Board of Directors for the Society of Government Meeting Professionals, Rocket City Chapter. After spending five years in the hospitality industry, she joined the HighTower Twickenham team in February 2017.
As an Operations Associate, Emily utilizes her experience from the hospitality field to provide a sophisticated yet personal level of service for HighTower Twickenham clients. Her responsibilities include processing client service requests, establishing Client Portal access, preparing new account documentation and managing the team’s schedules.
Emily lives in Madison with her husband, Corey, and daughter, Evelyn. They spend their weekends hiking with their dog, travelling, and hosting friends and family for BBQs and bonfires on their patio.
Kinsey serves as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for the HighTower Twickenham Huntsville and Birmingham offices.
Joining the HighTower Twickenham team in January 2017, Kinsey leads the efforts in effective marketing and communication strategies that align with the goals and objectives of HighTower Twickenham clients to include individuals, families, businesses and institutions. As HighTower Twickenham continues to carve out the industry standard for tailored and transparent wealth management with clients always positioned as the focal point, she engages in the development and execution of strategic and tactical partnerships throughout the communities HighTower Twickenham serves.
Kinsey holds nearly ten years of steadfast yet versatile experience in communications and marketing with a diverse professional background in the nonprofit and corporate sectors. After finishing college and returning to her Huntsville hometown, she served as the Marketing and Sales Director for Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center. Shifting into the aerospace and defense industry, she represented Lockheed Martin Corporation in the capacity of Project Management and Planning Operations, overseeing the Huntsville community relations, communications and marketing initiatives. She also was a freelance writer for several publications in Alabama to include AL.com/The Huntsville Times and Business Alabama.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences degree from The University of Alabama and graduated with a specialization in Public Relations and Spanish in 2010.
Kinsey is an avid rock climber and met her husband, Chas, while scaling the rock faces of the South. The two of them travel together in search of the best mountaintop views the world has to offer.
Jania began her career at ADP’s Retirement Services Division and spent 10 years helping them become one of the largest retirement plan providers in the country. During her time at ADP, she worked with channel partners such as Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America. Jania then became a Senior Account Executive for Fidelity Investments. While at Fidelity, Jania built retirement plan solutions for mid-market companies. Jania gained tremendous exposure to the challenges plan sponsors face and their need to have a fiduciary partner. This exposure led her to leave Fidelity and form a team of consultants that had a unified focus on helping plan sponsors with their fiduciary responsibilities.
Jania has been featured in the Washington Post, 401(k) Wire and 401(k) Advisor Magazine. Her team won one of the most prestigious awards in the industry in 2013; the 401(k) Advisor Leadership Award sponsored by National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).
Ms. Stout was appointed to the Leadership Council of National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) in spring of 2014. The Council is charged with setting the strategic direction and making policy decisions on all matters related to NAPA’s mission. Membership is comprised of nine voting member advisors—defined as individuals who are focused on advisory services directly to plan sponsors and their participants. She is a regular speaker at the Plan Sponsor National Conference as well as a contributor to many industry publications.
Jania holds her FINRA Series, 7, 6, 63 and 66. Ms. Stout was a two sport Division 1 athlete and graduated with a double major from Hofstra University. She is a 2008 graduate of the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) Leadership program and a board member of the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland. In her free time she coaches girls’ lacrosse and is the lacrosse commissioner at LTRC where she oversees 36 youth teams across the state. She resides in Phoenix, MD with her two daughters, Hannah and Sophie.
Prior to co-founding Fiduciary Plan Advisors, Chad was the Director of Investment Consulting at a regional consulting firm overseeing $2.7 billion of qualified and non-qualified plan assets. Unlike most investment-oriented consultants who begin their careers as wealth managers, Chad began working for a local TPA/Recordkeeper out of college. That experience strengthened his understanding of ERISA compliance and gives him a unique view of structuring investment programs for retirement plans.
Chad graduated magna cum laude from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a focus in business finance and English, is a CFA charter holder as well as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps after serving four years in the infantry and as a scout sniper. Chad currently lives in Crownsville, MD with his wife, Jill, of 19 years and two daughters, Dorothea (8yrs) and Sylvia (5yrs).
Peter’s 18 years on experience in retirement plan consulting provides him with a broad base of knowledge in qualified plan management to consult with his clients in establishing best practices in all aspects of a qualified plan.
Prior to HighTower, Peter was an Account Executive focused on qualified retirement plan design and investment advisory service. He spent 14 years in commercial banking, and 12 years as a full service record-keeper/administrator.
Peter earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from James Madison University. He holds his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP™) designation.
Peter is married with three children and resides in Severna Park, MD. He currently serves as an Elder at Bay Area Community Church in Annapolis, MD.
Sarah has earned her reputation as a detail-oriented executive leader who can synthesize complex business challenges to uncover solutions and opportunities for entrepreneurs. Sarah guides clients through a multi-faceted planning process where both financial and business goals are optimized for business transition. Sarah assists clients in determining whether they can afford to exit their business and what options are best – stay, grow or exit their business. Armed with a comprehensive plan and analysis, clients can make well-informed decisions in monetizing the value of their businesses. Through HighTower’s strategic advisory network, Sarah can help clients execute their plan.
Sarah holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Management Science and Statistics with specialization in Decision Information Systems from the University of Maryland. She’s also completed courses in Executive Management and Innovation Management Program from University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering and Robert H. Smith School of Business. Sarah and her husband, Hamid, live in Bethesda. Sarah has a passion for helping entrepreneurs and enjoys being active in the DMV's startup community. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with friends and family.
