Philosophy
The open source model of financial services encourages competition and sharing of the various pricing, products, and services offered by the industry's brokerage firms, custodians and vendors and by promoting sharing of this information among a community of financial advisors (the HT Partnership), the Advisors are able to deliver a better investment solution to their clients.
Since the principal clearing and custodial firms know they are competing for the business, they are incented to deliver the highest quality service at the most competitive price – and that’s good for the advisor and good for the client. Furthermore, since the 45 contra-trading firms know they are competing for “advisor-owned-trade”, they too are incented to deliver the best service at the most competitive price, and that’s good for the advisor and good for the client.
HT’s culture encourages a peer-to-peer relationship among the advisors and management, and since management has no ability to drive independent margin, its interests are aligned with the advisors – both want the best solution for the client.
