Mr. Gilbert is a Managing Director and Partner at HighTower. Prior to joining Hightower, Mr. Gilbert spent 9 years on the floor of the CBOE, and 10 years working with wealthy individuals and families at Goldman Sachs.

Mr. Gilbert joined HighTower in 2009 after spending ten years in Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs. Prior to that, he spent nine years as a professional market maker on the Chicago Board Options Exchange. While there, he traded a proprietary portfolio of index and equity based options and futures.

Mr. Gilbert earned his BA in Economics from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from The Booth School at the University of Chicago.

Larry is a current director of the Next Generation Board at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. He is also a former director and past Chairman of the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Midwest and its parent organization, Starlight International. He is an active member of the Golden Angels Network at Marquette University in Milwaukee and serves as an advisor to the Kohler Business Center at Marquette University. He is proud to serve as a judge to the Kohler Business Center’s annual business plan competition.

Mr. Gilbert is an active runner, triathlete and cyclist, having completed several marathons, Ironman triathlons and numerous other endurance events. Mr. Gilbert is married and has two wonderful daughters.
